Oakerhater VBS

Wed, June 27, 2012

This year’s VBS in Watonga will be held at the Whirlwind Mission of the Holy Family Wednesday, June 27 thru Friday, June 29. Youth and adults are encouraged to come:

  • to learn about Cheyenne Arapaho culture, including our first Native American Saint, the Rev. David Pendleton Oakerhater
  • to provide a three day VBS for the local children, from healthy food to crafts, games, stories, music and daily Eucharist
  • to take the children to Roman Nose State Park for swimming on Friday

We typically head out Tuesday afternoon for set up and pack up and head home on Friday afternoon. Volunteers may either stay at the mission, in a motel in Watonga, or commute.

Please contact Janice Eberhard at [email protected] or 341-4115 (home) or 613-0592 (cell) to discuss how you might contribute to this wonderful service opportunity.
