Saint Paul's loves children and we welcome all children and families into our worship services and parish life at the Cathedral.
If you decide you would prefer for your child to attend Nursery or Child Care during the service we make both available. Our Nursery is open to infants thru age three and our Child Care room is open to children ages three thru age seven (or completion of Second Grade).
We offer Nursery and Child Care every Sunday morning from 8:00 until 12:30 and on Wednesday evenings during Advent and Lent. Our Nursery and Child Care rooms are available on most holidays including Christmas Eve (5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. only) and all evening services during Holy Week. We may also offer Nursery or Child Care during special events. Please check the calendar of events or the weekly Ministry Minute for more details.
Check-In Procedures: Parents bringing children for Nursery and/or Child Care may check children in at the desk located in the hallway to the north of the Reception Desk on the first floor of the Education Building. The Education Building is the building on the right as you enter through the main entrance gate. A childcare worker will check the child in and mark the preference of the parent as to whether they would like the child to come into the service during the Peace or pick the child up. Parents will also leave a contact number (cell phone) where they can receive a text message or phonecall during the service in case of emergency, illness or behavioral concern.
All first time Nursery/Child Care attendees must provide a registration form (available at the check-in desk).
Safety and Security: The Nursery and Child Care room follow DHS Standards, where possible, in the care and safety of your children. The staff has completed Safeguarding God's Children training and are certified in CPR/First Aid within 60 days of the staff member's hiring date. They also follow the Saint Paul's Policies and Procedures for Childcare and Childcare Workers, which may be found online at the Saint Paul's Cathedral website. Further, all childcare workers are encouraged to be up-to-date on vaccinations, including booster shots, and highly encouraged to receive an annual flu shot.
In addition we now use a walkie-talkie system on Sunday mornings to ensure safety and security for our children in the nursery.
